The japanese name for their species is Saiya-Jin. Saiya is an anagram of yasai which means vegetable and jin means person. All the full blooded saiyans are named after vegetables. All the Namekians are named after musical instruments, all of Bulma's (bloomer) family are named afte underwear (son named Trunks and daughter named bra) (their surname is Brief).
